Robot the Rock Opera

Planet X Productions’

Robot the Rock Opera

What would you pay for free will?

Live at the Bug Theatre

April 27 through May 12

Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., plus Thursday, May 3

Set 99 years in the future, Roberta the love-bot struggles with her programming and her role as a servant to mankind in this class war parable of revolution, romance, and robots.

Planet X Productions—the folks who brought you Captain Swift and the Invasion from Dimension X, “Sea of Blood,” and “Beast of Babylon”—are back at it with the Next Pony. The two organizations that brought Trey Parker’s Cannibal! The Musical to the Bug stage in November for multiple sold-out shows, are now bringing us Robot the Rock Opera, by Seth Iniguez Bertoni and Fredd Bowers. This bold work of original musical theater will dazzle the senses as the live rock orchestrations of Fredd Bowers are combined with Meg Bertoni’s vibrant choreography. Robot creates a foreboding but inspiring portrait of the future as a reflection of humanity’s past—and present—of slavery and oppression, and the power of the “human” spirit to overcome tyranny.

Tickets are $15 at the door or at robottherockopera.eventbrite.com
